Matt Brown is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for writing and directing the 2016 biographical drama The Man Who Knew Infinity, starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons, which explores the life of the pioneering Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Brown made his feature directorial debut with the drama Ropewalk (2000). He later directed Freud's Last Session (2023), starring Anthony Hopkins as Sigmund Freud and Matthew Goode as C.S. Lewis. Known for his focus on character-driven narratives and historical figures, Brown continues to work as a filmmaker in independent cinema.
