Cristina has been subjected to violence by her partner, Paolo. The event triggers a dissociative trauma, and, torn between taking her own life or his, she traps him in their apartment after sedating him with a prescribed sleeping pill; upon his awakening, she forces him to play a game of Russian roulette with her.
