Kazuto Tobe, a salaryman at a top trading company, has lost his daughter and his relationship with his wife, Yoshimi, is strained. It is at this time that Tobe meets Keiko Nakazawa, a part-time worker at his favourite coffee shop. Tobe finds solace in seeing the likeness of his deceased daughter in her. However, Keiko is sold to a brothel by the yakuza due to her father's debts, and after her mother's death, she takes her own life.
